The Ghost is one of the most popular and luxurious sedans launched by Rolls Royce. The car was named ghost to so as to salute Silver Ghost which was the first car to be produced and launched in 1906. The new version of the Ghost was launched at Auto Shanghai show in April 2009. However the official launch of the production model took place at the Frankfurt motor show of 2009.

The Rolls Royce Ghost is the first car launched in the Rolls Royce model series of cars and comes equipped with 6.6L V12 engine. This engine can deliver power of 563 bhp at 5200 rpm along with peak torque of 780 Nm at 1500 rpm. The engine is incredibly silent and yet totally responsive. The unique aspect of this vehicle is that it is entirely hand built as per order and so finishing touches can be customised.
The length of the car is 5399 mm and its width is 1948mm while its height is 1550mm. The car has steel monococque chasis and the suspension system includes dynamic stability control along with anti roll stabilisation. This gives stability to the car and ensures that riding the car can be completely comfortable.

The car delivers mileage of 4.87 km/litre in the city while the mileage on the highway is 10.4 km/litre.

The interiors can be completely selected as per the needs of the customers and full customisation of the same ensures that the car is completely unique. A gentle tug at the chrome portion on the door opens the door and the door is hinged in a manner that allows easy entry. The rear seat of the car has a lounge like design and the seats have excellent support.

The car has several safety features and these include stability as well as traction control, front and rear active head restraints, front impact airbags that have occupant sensor feature and rear child safety door locks. Other safety features include 2-point seat belts with pretensioners, front and rear side curtain airbags, daytime running lights and 4-wheel antilock ventilated disc brakes.

The car is available in several colors and these include Adriatic blue, dark indigo, claret, diamond black, darkest tungsten, ensign red, English white, lunar blue, jubilee silver, sea green, metropolitan blue and new sable.
