The Mini Cooper is a brand that has enjoyed considerable popularity in the automotive industry for several years. From 1994 the brand was taken over by BMW and now the car will be making its entry in the Indian automobile sector in 2010. Mini Cooper Cabrio is among the three cars in the Mini Cooper flagship that will be launched in India.

The Mini Cooper Cabrio review indicates that the car will be equipped with a 1598cc petrol engine. This engine will deliver power of 120 bhp at 6000 rpm along with peak torque of 160 Nm at 4250 rpm. The top speed of the car is 198 km/hour. The length of the car is 3699mm and its width is 1683mm while its height is 1414mm.
The car can seat 4 individuals and its boot space capacity is 125 litres. The engine is mated with 6-speed manual transmission and the gears are well synchronised so as to ensure precise and crisp changing of gears. The car has fully automated soft top that can be opened or closed in only 21 seconds.
The suspension of the car may seem stiff and so that car is not exactly suitable for long drives on problematic roads. However it is important to understand that the Mini Cooper cars will be brought as completely built units after considering the Indian road conditions. The car has a highly responsive brake system. The kerb weight of the car is 1240 kgs and its fuel tank limit is 40 litres.

The interiors of the car are designed to give it a retro feel and the car offers decent space to its occupants. The space may seem constricted for large individuals. The interiors feature classically shaped knobs and buttons and the controls are organised on the center console in a way wherein they can be easily accessed. The speedometer is huge in size and customers have the option of getting the interiors customised as per their preferences. The car has air conditioner and comes with climate control feature. The steering has rake and reach adjustment feature and the driver’s seat can be electrically adjusted.

The safety features in the car include airbags, fog lamp and parking sensors. Other features include anti lock brake system, electronic brake force distribution feature and electronic stability control. The car has cornering brake control as well and being a convertible it has two roll bars that are connected and that pop up in the event of the car turning after detection of roll over sensors.

The car is expected to cost Rs 21 lakhs and the car will be available in a single design variation.
